Joint Venture & Subsidiaries

A series of Joint Venture Companies (JVCs) to cater for niche areas with technologically well established companies abroad has been planned and are being established.  Each JVC will be an independent company with 74% equity from Alpha and 26% from OEMs.  They will have a Board of Directors and establish production / assembly / test facilities required for the products.  Market will be to cater for both National and International requirements.

Joint Venture Companies

As part of above, Alpha has concluded a Joint Venture Company with M/s. Elbit Security Systems (ELSEC), Israel, for manufacture of the state of art equipment and sub-systems, assemblies, components and manufactured parts for Opto-electronics, Tank Upgradation Programs, UAVs, EW Systems, Communication Systems, etc. The JVC equity is 51% from Alpha (as Indian Company) and 49% from ELSEC as Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), to meet Government of India’s policy of encouraging Private Sector participation in Indian Defence Production.

Subsidiaries

      ALPHA – TOCOL ENGINEERING SERVICES (P) LTD (Alpha–Tocol)

Alpha Design Technologies Private Limited has a subsidiary named ALPHA – TOCOL ENGINEERING SERVICES (P) LTD (Alpha–Tocol), which manufactures airframe structural assemblies for the aerospace industry. Alpha-Tocol Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. is an aerospace precision engineering company established in 1972 as Tocol Enterprises. The company initially specialized in designing and manufacturing tools, assembly jigs, fixtures, and machined parts for aerospace requirements. With the liberalization of regulations, the company expanded to manufacture and supply airframe structures to various divisions of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL). The company has obtained AS9100 Rev-D and ISO 9001:2015 certifications.

Alpha Tocol is a leading private, professionally managed aerospace company that has been supplying tools and gauges, jigs and fixtures, machined and sheet metal parts, and aircraft assemblies for over 50 years. The company is approved by all divisions of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), Mahindra Aerospace, and the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL).

KORTAS INDUSTRIES (P) LTD (ALPHA - KORTAS)

Alpha Design Technologies Private Limited has another subsidiary named KORTAS INDUSTRIES (P) LTD (ALPHA - KORTAS) at Thiruvananthapuram, who is a manufacturer specialized in the fabrication of complex structures and parts of launch vehicles like PSLV, GSLV, etc. of ISRO. The machine shop include Precision CNC Turning and Milling machines, Conventional Milling and Turning machines, Qualified TIG/MIG Welding facility, Qualified Heat Treatment Furnaces, Light Alloy Structure Fabrication facility, Complex Tube/Pipe Forming facility, Qualified Metrology facility, etc., with well qualified and ISRO trained engineers and technicians having a strength of about 80 personnel. Some of the subassemblies manufactured by Kortas Industries are ‘Thermal Protection Shields’, “Flux Seal Assembly’, etc. The company has got VSSC approved heat treatment facility.
